During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
Several individuals were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.
At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to local officials.
Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.
"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.
Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.
A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.
Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.
Local officials said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and three other people were injured.
The strikes follow periods of air raids in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.
All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.
National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.
Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
